  • Event: 2019 KidWind Challenge
    Description: KidWind is an annual event which gives students the opportunity to explore the power of wind by building and testing their own wind turbines and then compete against other middle and high school teams. This year, four regional competitions are scheduled. The winners of each will compete in the statewide competition for a chance to move on to the nationals in Houston, Texas.

    Northeast Regional: Manhattan, February 14, 2019
    Southeast Regional: Burlington, March 1, 2019
    Southwest Regional: Great Bend, March 5, 2019
    Northwest Regional: Oakley, March 7, 2019
    Statewide Finals: Topeka, March 30, 2019

  • Event: Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Refuge Earth Day Festival
    Description: Will feature a rain Barrel workshop, recycling activities, alternative energy demonstrations, plant give-away, and more.

  • Event: Topeka Zoo Earth Day
    Description: Will feature informational booths and hands-on activities from agencies around NE Kansas, as well as make and take crafts, edible activities, puppet shows, and more.

  • Event: Kansas History and Environmental Fair
    Description: Teaches students grades four through six how Kansans have been "living green" for generations.
